Mojave Artists of Color Collective
MACC Mission Statement
The Mojave Artists of Color Collective is a self-governing, evolving, intergenerational group of BIPOC artists and creatives living and working in the Morongo Basin area. We provide peer-to-peer support, networking opportunities, studio visits, critique circles, collaboration, and collective exhibitions and events. The collective practices advocacy for BIPOC and other marginalized groups to gain greater access to arts funding, production, and exhibitions.
MACC is open to self-identified BIPOC artists and creatives in any medium (visual, performance, film, photography, writing, graphic design, music, etc). Artists of color living and/or working in the Morongo Basin (Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Landers, Joshua Tree, 29 Palms, and Wonder Valley) or other places in and around the Mojave desert are welcome to join. There are no membership dues.
Who We Are
We are a group of BIPOC artists and creatives living and working in the Morongo Basin. We meet several times a month, to talk about our practices, share ideas, collaborate, commiserate, and empower each other to increase visibility and access to the arts for all marginalized groups.
