Mary Dennis
Mary Dennis is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and breathes to create. She uses whatever medium necessary to make her vision come alive from painting, photography, video art, performance art, sculpture, poetry, to spoken word. Mary's work is highly expressive with both modern and classic twists. Her work also has surrealistic, whimsy style and religious undertones. With lots of symbolism and representation throughout. Mary's method is extremely intuitive yet methodical, her process is very therapeutic with psychological underpinnings. At times Mary starts with constraints and plans and then explodes…Other times it starts with thoughts or ideas that she lets soar, and or play, experiment,
and imagine.
Mary is inspired by emotion, experience, imagination, nature, God, words, gestures, connections, relationships, children, color, life, death, conversations, narratives, her family, form, humanity. Along with being a multidisciplinary artist Mary is also a poet and writer.
Mary is a senior currently attending the University Of San Bernardino where she is studying for her B.A. in Studio art with a concentration in Art Education. Mary has been in various student art shows with her local community college CMC. Mary won best in show at the High Desert Nature Museum Metamorphosis show 2023. I love to work with my hands, I am an immensely tactile artist. If I can touch it, it gets inside of me I can feel it and I know what it can do!
