I’m a Colombian-born queer autistic artist living in Twentynine Palms. Since I was a child I have used visual expression as a form of therapy, though I never would have called it that then.
Creation is essentially my healing process, a kinetic mechanism for embodiment, expression, integration and acceptance. My insides often reveal themselves in a soup of chaos which I attempt to piece together like a puzzle with many possible solutions.
My work explores themes relating to the illusion of the self, multiple selves, identity, gender, queerness, sexuality, disability, mental illness, trauma, dissociation, vulnerability and worth.
As I paint and click the shutter I am growing love and compassion for the expressed selves. My intention for sharing is fueled by a hope that these separate selves that live within others may be recognized and nurtured in kind.
